Polycrome Glacier Change, Denali NP

Here’s an animation using one of my repeat photography photo pairs showing how the Polycrome Glaciers in Denali National Park and Preserve have changed over the past 95 years.  The historic photo was taken by U.S. Geological Survey geologist Stephen Reid Capps on July 18, 1916 during his expedition to explore and map the Mount McKinley region of Alaska.  My repeat of Capps’ image was made on June 26, 2011.
