About Ron Karpilo:

Freelance science and adventure photographer Ron Karpilo’s assignments have taken him to the glaciers of Denali, the fjords of Glacier Bay, the rapids of the Grand Canyon, and the caves of Carlsbad Caverns.  Ron holds a Masters Degree in Geography from the University of Denver and Bachelors Degrees in Geology and Environmental Science from Occidental College.  His clients include ESPN, Former Vice President Al Gore, ABC News, National Geographic Adventure, NASA, and the National Park Service.  Ron and his wife Lacy live in Tacoma, Washington; where they enjoy the diverse kayaking, skiing, and climbing opportunities that the state has to offer.
