During the 2013 summer I created panoramic imagery of the 92.5 mile long Denali National Park Road similar to Google Street View, using a 360 degree camera system I made with four GoPro Hero3 Black Edition Cameras mounted on the roof of my 2012 Subaru Forester.
Repeat photo pair showing vegetation change between 1963 and 2012 at the Wonder Lake Ranger Station and Denali Park Road in Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska.

This a video I put together using a panoramic repeat photo pair that I made last summer in Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska. The pair shows 95 years of change of the Polycrome Glaciers and the Alaska Range in Denali NP.
Repeat photography showing 95 years of melting of the Polycrome Glaciers in Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska. On June 26, 2011 Ron Karpilo repeated a photo taken near Polycrome Pass on July 18, 1916 by U.S. Geological Survey geologist Stephen Reid Capps.
This summer Lacy and I spent several weeks in Denali National Park working on a repeat photography project documenting changes in the park natural and cultural resources. Here’s a photo from one of our photo locations near Wonder Lake.
Here’s a sneak peek of one of the repeat photo pairs I created earlier this summer in Denali National Park, Alaska during my fieldwork for my Murie Science and Learning Center Fellowship S.R. Capps Project:
We have a Snowshoe Hare (Lepus americanus) that has been living under our deck and spends a lot of time in our backyard in Anchorage, Alaska. It’s been fun watching him (we assume it’s a male) his fur change from his brown summer morph to his white winter morph.
Repeat photography of Raven Glacier at Crow Pass in Chugach National Forest, Alaska (1915 to 2010). In the 95 years between images, Raven Glacier has significantly thinned and retreated.
Winter sunset view across Cook Inlet of Mount Redoubt Volcano (10,197 ft) in Lake Clark National Park from my home office window in Anchorage, Alaska.
Mount McKinley from Stony Dome in Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska.
Repeat photography by Ron Karpilo of Eklutna Glacier in Chugach State Park, Alaska showing significant retreat over the past 95 years.
